Direct Access Colonoscopy
Patients may be eligible for Direct Access Colonoscopy. Individuals with an uncomplicated medical history, between 45 and 75 years old, who are in generally good health and require a routine colonoscopy as part of colorectal cancer screening may be eligible.
Also, if you require a colonoscopy to evaluate a positive screening stool test, you may be eligible for Direct Access.

Please ask your Primary Care Physician for more information on the health benefits of colon cancer screening.
Direct Access allows a patient to undergo a colonoscopy without a pre-procedure visit with the Gastroenterologist/Endoscopist. These patients do not meet the doctor until the day of the procedure.
Prior to being scheduled for the colonoscopy, patients will have a call with our Center staff to review their medical history in detail. If a contraindicative health condition is identified during this call, an office visit will be required prior to the procedure.
If you’re over 45 and haven’t had a colonoscopy, take advantage of Direct Access Colonoscopy at Middlesex Digestive Health & Endoscopy Center. By scheduling directly with our center, you’ll see a board-certified specialist and have your procedure the same day—saving time and reducing costs by eliminating an extra office visit. If you have a co-pay, this can lower your out-of-pocket expense while ensuring the same high-quality care.
